Is hydro dipping permanent?
Absolutely, it's exactly the same process as having alloys or a car/bike panel resprayed, but with an additional step of adding the pattern. I use quality 2K lacquer in either a semi-gloss (satin) or gloss finish to ensure the item lasts for years.
2. What can be hydro dipped?
Anything that can be submersed in water. If it's a wooden item it can be sealed first to prevent water ingress.
3. How long does it take?
2 weeks for turnaround on items, I'm normally done in a week but hydro-dipping is very unforgiving! A re-dip means rinsing a part down, re-spraying it and trying again which all takes time. Plus I like to under promise and over deliver to my customers.
4. When can I book in and get my project started?
Normally I'm booked up about 6 weeks in advance. If it's a small item I can sometimes squeeze it in, but whole projects take more time. I provide provisional dates on enquiry/quote. The date is then booked permanently for you when you decide to go ahead with the work. There is a 10% non-refundable deposit to secure the date. If you're unable to make the visit in person we welcome items via courier and we ship back when completed.
5. Is hydro dipping just for cars and bikes?
Absolutely not, I've done everything from phone cases, kitchen cupboard doors, skateboards, electronics, shoes, hats, football boots, children's toys and even on one occasion a toilet seat! I love up-cycling old furniture and peoples treasured items, giving them a new lease of life, so they can be enjoyed by their owners for years to come.
